About the Artist
I am Eduardo (Eddie) Iniestra Mendoza. I am an overall creative soul of multi disciplinary mediums, but there’s a very special place in heart for black and white film photography. Perhaps it comes from my home town of Mexico City where I was born and raised until I was 12 years old. There I experienced life, art, music, dance, culture, as well as being exposed to much older films from the golden age of Mexican cinema where Black and White was king. Being in the darkroom is very zen and therapeutic for me. Seeing the alchemy of an image appear in the chemistry is magic. Spending time conceptualizing an idea or just going out to see what my eye captures makes me feel a sense of freedom. Every photo taken with a fully manual film camera and processed by hand in the darkroom is a true craft. Something that I am grateful to keep alive through my photos..
